nkerman Winery (Inkerman Fine Vintage Wine LTD) was founded on the land where 25 centuries ago the ancient Greeks grew grapes and made wine. The Kiev Prince Vladimir was baptized in 988 on the territory of the antique city-state Chersonesus and spread it in Kiev Rus. On this land continuing the traditions of ancient wine – making and creating new legends, Inkerman Fine Vintage Wine situated.

Inkerman Winery was founded on February 1-st, 1961 in the cave galleries of Sevastopol area in a small town Inkerman. Limestone galleries appeared in the 1940-s, after World War II for rebuilding the ruined Sevastopol. During the next 15 years a whole city was grown up under the ground: kilometers of galleries 12 meters height and 10-12 meters wide are run to depth of 5 to 30 meters.

In cool cellars there were installed oak barrels and equipment for making dry, fortified and dessert fine wines of high quality. The first deciliter of wine was made in 1963, a dry fine wine “Inkerman Rkatsiteli” became the first brand.

The second department for aging fortified and dessert wines was organized in 1967, because of it the area of cellars has increased to 55 000 square meters.

In 1965 the winery got the first awards for its wines.

Inkerman Winery is famous for its splendid fine wines.

In the 1960-s winemakers created some marks of classic champagne which became very popular among of connoisseurs.

At the end of the 1970-s there was built a degustation hall for 80 persons.

In the 1980-s the Inkerman Winery was set up a scientific research laboratory to explore wine peculiarities and create new marks. Today an assortment of TM INKERMAN has got 35 marks of high quality wines: dry, semi-dry, semi-sweet, fortified and dessert.

In 1990, at the conclusion of Organization Internationale de la Vigne et du Vin (OIV – International Organization of Vine and Wine, Paris) the Inkerman Winery was recognized as one of the best winemaking enterprises in the world.

Inkerman wines have been delivered to the Ukrainian embassies abroad. The wines are served to all official and governmental ceremonies and also to the Cabinet and President’s.

In the 2000 Inkerman Winery started exporting wines abroad. The wines of TM INKERMAN have been exported to Russia, the USA, Germany, Poland and other countries.

In 2003 a system of quality ISO 9001:2000 was brought into operation.

January, 1-st 2005 Inkerman Winery has been hold to the First National Winemaking Holding. The Holding includes vineyards, winery, marketing and distribution branches. The Holding mission is to revive and redound to the fame of national winemaking.
