nkerman Winery was founded in the South-West of the Crimea, near Sevastopol. This part of a peninsula has the most favourable conditions for winemaking. Sevastopol Wine Region is situated on the junction of the steppes, the Crimean Mountains and the Black Sea. The grape is cultivated in the valleys surrounded by forests and flatted hills, in valleys of the Crimean Rivers – the Belbeck, the Kacha, the Alma, the Chernaya, the Zapadnyi Bulganak, and the coast of the Black Sea. The best fine dry wines are made from Foros to Nikolaevka, in Balaklava and Sevastopol districts and in the west part of Bakhchisarai. 7,5 thousand hectars of Sevastopol district are occupied by vineyards.

The climate is temperate in piedmont districts and subtropical from Balaklava to Foros. Winter is very worm and almost without frost. The above zero temperature holds here at about 245 days per year, the middle temperature is about +4º C in winter and +19º…+24º C in summer. By its summer temperature and soil indicators Sevastopol is similar to famous winemaking district Bordeaux in France.

The hole year a vine lives on the clearest underground water. The grape reaches an ideal maturity with a good balance of sugar and acidity.

There is a unique collection of grape: Aligote, Sauvignon the Green, Rhine Riesling, Merlot, Bastardo Magarachskii, Cabernet Sauvignon, Rkatsiteli, Saperavi. In 2004 in Sevastopol Wine District was concentrated of one third of all Crimean grape, destined for winemaking.

The cellars of the Inkerman Winery are situated inside limestone rocks. The microclimate in the cellars is unique and favorable for aging fine wines. For the whole year it is the constant humidity and temperature.

Thanks to combination of relief and climate, fertile soil and unique grape varietis in Sevastopol are made the best fine dry wines in Ukraine.
